South Carolina

Proof of spring.
The Aiken-Rhett home we toured.
A bit of southern history.

The 170 item buffet we ate at on Sunday.
The place did not open until 3:30.
This resturaunt was right on the river.

Of course I ate a lot of shrimp.
Beautiful architecture in Charleston.

This is a church of course.

Fried Green Tomatoes.

Cool suspended bridge.

Myrtle beach.
Windy, but the ocean was a warm 70 degrees.

We even drove to North Carolina.

It was awesome to see and hear the beach
from our hotel room.

We went to church in Conway on Sunday.
Little did we know that traffic would take an hour
and due to remodeling (since July 2008)
church was held at a different location.
We went to the other location only to
find that that parking lot was empty also.

That looks like you two had a lot of fun. Did you go for your anniversary?

We had skymiles that we had been accumulating for years that we had to use before they expired. We randomly chose S. Carolina back in November when we booked the flight. We had enough skymiles for two flights so Bruce and I picked a time that we could both get work off. It has been a very long time since Bruce and I were away together just the two of us for more than a day and a half.

Wow! It looks like a wonderful place to go. I'm glad you and Bruce could take some time and enjoy being together. The last time Mark and I were alone was when we flew back here to MN to purchase a house 5 years ago this month. That was NO vacation!

I am glad that you were both able to go and get away together, esspecially now that you have this new stress with Bruce's health. He is in our prayers.
