Backstreets BACK!

Zoe and I at Energy Solutions livin' our Childhood Dream
I drove to Salt Lake and no one died! YAY!

Anxiously waiting for what we came for. BSB's Dj was playin some great dancing music. Zoe and I had a blast mimiking the weird dancer girls behind the big screen.

Do you see Aunt Michelle?! I sure did!
I saw lots of people I know there. The Arena was Full!
Full of adult women who were teenagers
when the BSB were popular! HA love it!

After a Whole lot of waiting we saw the Backstreet Boys right before our very eyes!
UNBELIEVEABLE!!! Oh and they danced too! YES! haha. I Loved when they sang their old songs! I was obsessed between ages 7-9. Brian will always be my Favorite!! Kevin was the only one not returning to the BSB after 11 years.

A View No Longer Available

Not only is each sunset seen only once,
but this window will reflect no more.

The beautiful image of the late evening sky
is viewed in a window
which is soon to be demolished.
The original Orem High School building
is due to be completely torn down in June 2010

Day after Prom pictures

Aaron happened to be visiting
the day after Amanda's Prom.
Kinda nice to have him visit.
Andi's wedding monopolized the
top slots of the 'important stuff' list,
but once Andi was married
and on her honeymoon with Derek
it became Amanda's turn for attention.
The timing was good since
Andi was married on Wednesday
and Prom was that Saturday.
Good thing we had found
Amanda's dress weeks before.
She looks gorgeous!
Beautiful girl- inside and out!

Good thing Aaron wasn't
around to great her date.

Summer Has Arrived. Did We Skip Spring?

Can you tell by Braxton's concerned expression
that he is contemplating whether
it is indeed warm enough to play in the water?
Just a mere 10 minutes earlier he was sweltering
inside, begging to play in the pool.
For Michael there was never a second thought
as to how fun it is to play outside in the sunshine.

Chad set up the slip-n-slide for the boys.
I want one of these!
Many new improvements from the
first model which came out in the 70's.
Would someone google that for me?
When was Slip-n-Slide patented?

I would have stayed and played
if I would have been smart enough
to bring a swim suit with me.

Are these two posing identically?

One of these things doesn't belong

What is that Sesame Street song?
One of these things doesn't belong.
One of these things is not like the others.
Sure the snow shovel belongs.
Wasn't it just used last week?
Just a small reminder of how crazy
the weather has been.
It belongs in the picture with a slip-n-slide,
sprinklers, pool, bare feet and shorts.

Why not?

How crazy is it to spend all day getting my daughter and her friend to EFY in St George? And where were my brains when I agreed to this months ago? My brains are obviously connected to my heart with a VERY short line.
It all makes sense when you hear two girls getting more giddy as the miles separating home and southern Utah become shorter. There certainly must be something more special about attending EFY in a place four hours away rather than 15 minutes away.
Months ago when I casually agreed to drive my daughter to St. George and pick her up afterwards I was not thinking THERE and BACK, TWO times, and the cost of gas. I was thinking, "Sure, it's only 4 hours there. Why not?"
Why of course!
Yesterday was full of many of the reasons WHY to do it.
I got to spend hours with one of the sweetest and patient little girls, my grand-daughter, Jayden. We made it a girl day. Even though most of it was spent in a booster seat in the back of a car Jayden made the day fun. We sang songs, talked, colored, read Fancy Nancy several times, talked, and we even searched the girl isle of a toy store and decided on a butterfly make-up kit.
We played for a few hours at cousins Michael and Braxton's house.
Did you know that to a 5 year old, the drive to Arizona is not as long as the drive to St. George and back? I think it was the 'and back' that was the longest.
Our next 'girl day' will hopefully be in one spot and not involve booster seats and cars.
Jayden, thanks for spending the day with me. I had fun. I love you! Love Grandma Decker

Hidden Treasures

Last spring while Amanda and I
visited a neighbor home
we were treated to a beautiful
sign of a mother's concern for her young.
A Mother Quail had built a cozy nest
hidden in a potted plant on
Nan Johnson's front walkway.
The speckled eggs were well hidden
among the greenery.
Amanda was able to take this photo
looking down among the leaves
from an angle above the potted bush
using her cell phone camera.

Tidy Arachnoid

It was a tour with OHS Marching band
which brought me to this moment.
This unassuming arachnoid stayed
in his well made web the whole day.
Most people were sure to miss this
amazing view as the silky tresses
were suspended way up above from two
neighboring trees probably 15-20 feet up.
We left around midnight
so I can not say what his intentions
were after that.
Photo taken in California
when Andi competed with the
Orem color guard.
